Senior Financial Manager Jobs in Cape Town

The Fieldbar Co. · Cape Town
Senior Level

Finance and accounting work

A senior finance leadership opportunity has opened in Woodstock, Cape Town, for a technically strong accountant who thrives in a growing manufacturing business. The Fieldbar Co. is looking for a Senior Financial Manager to anchor its finance function, own group-level reporting across a multi-entity structure, and act as a trusted partner to leadership in finance, operations and supply chain.

About the company and the work

Fieldbar is a Cape Town-based manufacturing company with global ambitions in premium, design-led outdoor products. Through its FIELDBAR brand, it combines functional technicality, craftsmanship and bold creativity. As the business scales internationally, the company places strong value on kindness and high standards, and on building a factory and office where people feel respected, supported and proud of what they produce.

This is an onsite, full-time role reporting directly to the Head of Finance. It sits at the intersection of rigorous accounting standards and the day-to-day realities of manufacturing, and becomes increasingly critical as the group grows across multiple entities and currencies.

Role details and duties

The Senior Financial Manager will own the integrity of the group’s financial reporting, from multi-entity consolidations and IFRS-compliant statutory accounts to inventory valuations and cost-of-goods analysis. Key responsibilities include owning the full group consolidation cycle monthly, quarterly and annually across all Fieldbar entities, including intercompany eliminations, loan account management and multi-currency conversions.

The role also covers preparing IFRS-compliant statutory financial statements and consolidated management packs, overseeing the group inventory ledger across raw material, work in progress and finished goods, and managing foreign exchange exposures and multi-currency accounting for international trading. Further duties include treasury and working capital oversight, coordinating funding requirements and supporting group cash flow forecasting, working with operations and supply chain so commercial contracts, import duties and freight cost provisions are accurately captured, and supporting group budgeting and rolling forecasts with consolidated input, variance analysis and insight for the Head of Finance and leadership. The manager also reviews and prepares group tax compliance, including income tax, VAT, provisional tax and deferred tax, in coordination with external tax advisors.

Requirements

Only the requirements stated in the listing are set out here:

  • CA(SA) preferred; CIMA (CGMA) or ACCA with substantial consolidation and manufacturing sector experience will be considered.
  • 3 or more years of post-qualification accounting experience in a manufacturing, FMCG or physical goods environment.
  • A proven track record in multi-entity group consolidations with cross-border and multi-currency exposure.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory valuation, standard costing and bill-of-materials structures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS standards as applied to physical goods and manufacturing businesses.
  • Technical accounting depth in IFRS, including inventory accounting, revenue recognition, foreign currency and group consolidation structures.
  • Manufacturing fluency, including working with production data, bills of materials, standard costs and work in progress, and partnering with non-finance teams.
  • Analytical precision, including modelling complex group structures, identifying cost variances and turning detailed financial data into clear management insight.
  • Hands-on experience with mid-to-enterprise ERP systems such as Syspro, SAP or Cin7, and advanced Excel modelling, including consolidation and reporting tools.
  • High standards, a continuous improvement mindset, reliability, proactivity, the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
