Signature Cosmetics, a proudly South African beauty brand with stores across the country, is looking for a Store Supervisor for its Zevenwacht Mall store in Cape Town. This is a three-month contract role, advert reference 209999, and applications close on 9 November 2026.

The Store Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the store, including stock management, point of sale processes, customer service, store standards and the effective management of a team to deliver operational requirements. The role reports to the Area Manager.

Role details and duties

The duties stated in the advert include:

• Providing guidance, supervision and an example for the team, and developing and guiding team members in selling techniques, product knowledge, operational standards, customer service and visual merchandising standards.
• Ensuring the store is staffed according to agreed staffing schedules, drafting a staff schedule that provides optimum floor cover, and monitoring attendance registers.
• Creating a welcoming, inspirational and personalised experience for all customers, and driving sales and turnover by motivating and inspiring the team to achieve sales targets.
• Maintaining a clean, neat, tidy and fully replenished sales floor, and ensuring visual merchandising standards create a beautiful store experience.
• Managing stock levels, stock losses and shrinkage, completing the Shrinkage Loss Checklist with an action plan, and ensuring stock take and cycle count variance reports are checked and investigated.
• Ensuring all products are correctly priced with relevant price stickers or signage, and actioning pricing, including mark ups, mark downs and promotions.
• Ensuring point of sale and banking procedures are adhered to, completing petty cash requests in full for amounts over R200, and capturing petty cash usage accurately on point of sale.
• Ensuring stock receiving and unpacking procedures are adhered to, managing store floor damages, supplier defectives and delivery damages, and following the Inter Store Transfer process correctly.
• Analysing stock reports to identify over and under stock situations and fast and slow selling products, and ordering timeously to avoid out-of-stock situations, with specific focus on the Top 100 items.
• Informing the team and customers of current promotions, discounts and special offers, ensuring at least one to two make overs are conducted every day, and communicating all promotions to the team with the required visuals.
• Providing the Area Manager with photos and videos of the store’s windows, departments and service areas, and supporting marketing initiatives such as sidewalk sales and centre court space.
• Inducting and training all new employees on policies and procedures, guiding them to register on Payspace, and ensuring the Second in Charge is familiar with and upskilled on the Store Supervisor’s responsibilities.
• Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, and notifying the Area Manager and HR department of any breach.

This is a senior, hands-on store leadership role, and it includes working flexible hours in line with business requirements and standing for long periods.

Requirements

• A minimum of two years’ experience supervising a small team in a retail store.
• A minimum of three years’ working experience in a retail or related environment.
• Experience working with beauty, fragrances and skincare products is an advantage.
