About the company and the work

The Fleet Manager will manage SAFLog’s national road vehicle fleet and its allocated fleet equipment. Requirements

Applicants need Grade 12 and a Diploma in Fleet Management, Transport Management, Logistics Management or a related qualification. A minimum of 5 years’ fleet or transport management experience in a multi-site operational environment is required, together with practical experience in vehicle maintenance planning, fuel management and cost control. A valid driver’s licence appropriate to the vehicles driven is required, as is a willingness to travel nationally and coordinate urgent breakdown support when required. Advantageous items listed in the advert are fleet systems, telematics or vehicle maintenance training; supervisory or management training; and experience within logistics, rail-support, mining or heavy industry environments. Knowledge required includes road fleet maintenance and lifecycle planning; vehicle safety, licensing and driver authorisation processes; fuel management, telematics and fleet cost control; procurement, finance and delegated authority processes; and safety, conduct and information control standards. Skills required include data analysis and cost management; supplier negotiation and relationship management; problem-solving and decision-making; reporting and presentation skills; coaching, leadership and communication skills; and strong administrative and organisational abilities. No experience level label beyond the requirements above is stated in the advert, and only what the advert states is listed here.
