Role details and duties
- Supervise yard staff, forklift operators and general workers.
- Oversee daily yard operations, loading and dispatch.
- Ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and on time.
- Manage stock receiving, storage and movements.
- Conduct regular stock counts and year-end stocktakes.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and minimise breakages.
- Maintain yard housekeeping, equipment and safety standards.
- Coordinate with sales, dispatch and transporters.
- Maintain accurate stock records and daily operational reports.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, yard or dispatch environment.
- At least 1 year of staff supervisory experience.
- Proven stock control and physical stocktaking experience.
- Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one within 3 months.
- Basic computer skills, including Excel and stock systems.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Experience in building materials, bricks, paving or tiles is advantageous.
- ERP system experience, such as Sage, SAP or similar, is advantageous.
