Libstar has an opening for a Warehouse Clerk (Dispatch and Receiving) at its Cape Town operation. This is a permanent position for someone who knows warehouse work from the inside: checking stock, getting orders out on time, and keeping the records straight so nothing goes missing between the shelf and the truck.
About the company and the work
Libstar is a South African food group built around a passion for quality food. Its teams work as one unit, celebrate diversity, and take pride in an honest, accountable culture, with the aim of being a trusted partner in developing innovative brand and category solutions. The warehouse clerk sits at the heart of that operation in Cape Town, making sure finished goods and raw materials move through dispatch and receiving accurately and on schedule.
Role details and duties
The purpose of the role is to arrange shipments by checking stock levels, anticipating delivery requirements, and shipping items after examining their destination, route rate and delivery time. Day to day, the clerk will:
- Check and print all delivery notes against the orders provided, and complete the documentation needed for due diligence.
- Inform production about short orders and escalate issues promptly when something is off track.
- Dispatch goods correctly, following the FEFO (first expiry, first out) process when picking raw materials and finished goods.
- Operate a forklift and reach truck, and look after the machinery used.
- Manage inventory and location accuracy, and make sure daily stock counts are carried out.
- Process purchase order receipts and build raw material pallets, then dismantle pallets where needed.
- Carry out stock warehouse transfers on the TransLution system, decant containers and confirm them on the system, and complete stock takes as per normal procedure on TransLution.
- Capture all interbranch transfers correctly on the TransLution system, and pick, dispatch and capture orders correctly on the system.
- Comply with occupational health and safety requirements, and with food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping and pest control.
- Take part in personal hygiene checks, live the brand by living its core values, and always strive to do your best.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements, as stated in the original advert:
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification.
- 24 to 36 months of warehouse experience.
- A forklift and reach truck licence.
- Knowledge of stores handling procedures.
Where to find and apply safely
Apply only through the original Careers24 listing, using the Apply button on this page, which links to the original Libstar advert. Applications for this vacancy close on 6 November 2026, so apply well before the deadline. Be wary of anyone asking for payment in exchange for a job, and never share banking details or passwords with a recruiter.
Practical tips
Highlight your warehouse experience, your forklift and reach truck licences, and any experience with stock counts, FEFO picking or a warehouse system such as TransLution. Mention your attention to detail and your record on accuracy, since this role depends on getting counts, transfers and delivery notes exactly right. If you have food-industry experience, note your understanding of hygiene, allergen control and housekeeping standards.
How the process works
