The Sales Consultant works in the club, meeting prospects face to face, showing them the club and helping them choose the membership that fits their goals and lifestyle.
Role details and duties
Key duties include sales conversion and performance: turning conversations into memberships through confident, structured, value-led selling; applying the full sales process from needs analysis to tour, price presentation and close; recommending the best membership options for each prospect; consistently achieving and exceeding monthly sales targets in units and revenue; and maintaining strong conversion ratios across leads, appointments, tours and sales. The role also covers lead generation and pipeline management: proactively generating leads through walk-ins, referrals, outreach, corporate opportunities and local activity; building and maintaining a healthy, active sales pipeline; capturing and tracking all leads accurately in the Leads Management System; and creating daily activity to keep opportunities flowing. Further duties include follow-up and relationship management through calls, WhatsApp and email; delivering a high-energy, engaging, professional customer experience and representing the Virgin Active brand through unreasonable hospitality; and collaborating with Sales Managers, Experience teams and Personal Trainers to maximise opportunities and contribute to overall club performance and Net Member Movement.
Requirements

- Formal Matric qualification (essential).
- 1 to 2 years of successful sales experience within a similar industry, for example retail, hospitality or wellness.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- Digital acumen, with practical experience in using the Microsoft suite.
- Proven experience in delivering premium standards of service.
- Must be able to work the required roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Be an active ambassador for holistic wellness, and present a professional image consistent with the Virgin Active brand.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; team player; confident in engaging with people and able to build rapport quickly.
