A permanent, senior-level Shift Coordinator opportunity is open in South Africa through Manpower SA, paying R33,300–R40,000 per month. The coordinator will manage and lead team members to ensure maximum utilisation of the production facility, equipment, raw materials and packaging, producing quality products at the lowest possible cost for an FMCG concern.

The client is an FMCG operation needing a hands-on shift leader who can keep production, quality and maintenance moving together.
Role details and duties
Duties include monitoring service delivery to and from internal and external clients, communicating the production plan and carrying out preplanning and preparation, monitoring production start-up and assisting operators with start-up deviations, managing barriers to the plan, reviewing performance at regular intervals, and monitoring utilisation and productivity. The coordinator will manage downtime and production loss incidents, drive productivity improvements, ensure quality and production documentation is completed, monitor adherence to production, quality and cleaning procedures and standards, manage process and quality deviations, conduct audits and manage findings, oversee plant maintenance and engineering services, monitor first-line and preventative maintenance and machine condition checks, arrange maintenance support, apply 5S principles, and investigate and manage incidents.
Requirements
- Matriculated.
- A National Diploma in Food Technology, a Production Certificate or Diploma, or a National Certificate in Food and related fields, as stated in the source.
- Team Leader, Management or Supervisory training, which is essential in the source.
- Previous FMCG experience, which is preferred.
- Engineering or mechanical knowledge, material requirement planning, plant capacity and overall equipment effectiveness knowledge, as stated in the source.
- Knowledge and interpretation of advanced process control, and principles of microbiology, biochemistry and related disciplines, as stated in the source.
