The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) is a university of technology with a Bloemfontein Campus, and its Department of Communication Sciences sits within the Faculty of Humanities. The main purpose of these part-time lecturer posts is to develop academic material and lecture in allocated subjects for own and other programmes, and to execute appropriate community projects. Lectures may be face-to-face, via remote teaching, or a combination of both, and successful applicants will be required to lecture on the relevant CUT campus.
Role details and duties
The main tasks of the role are teaching, learning and assessment; student evaluation; research; administration; control and organisation; and community service. Subject fields include Media Studies Language Practice; Academic Literacy and Communication Studies; Afrikaans; French; German; isiXhosa; Sesotho; and Setswana. Appointments are made on an hourly basis for specific semester and/or year subjects, covering teaching, learning and assessment. Lecturers will be expected to have their own laptop computer.
Requirements
- An appropriate Postgraduate Diploma, Honours, Master’s or Doctorate degree, depending on the level of the subject.
- Previous lecturing experience will serve as a recommendation.
- Experience with electronic education (Blackboard) is recommended.
