The role keeps the debtors book accurate and up to date, and makes sure money owed to the group is collected efficiently. Applications close on 30 November 2026.

About the company and the work

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is one of South Africa’s leading pharmacy and healthcare retailers, with stores and support functions across the country. Its Midrand Trade Debtors team manages the accounts of the group’s trade customers, and the Accounts Receivable Debt Administrator is responsible for maintaining that debtors book successfully and accurately. The work sits at the heart of the group’s cash flow: accounts must be opened correctly, payments allocated to the right accounts, queries resolved promptly, and outstanding balances followed up before they age beyond acceptable limits.

Role details and duties

The administrator opens and maintains accounts in line with standard operating procedures, and runs accurate ITC checks for accounts before they are approved. Daily payments received from customers are allocated to the correct accounts, and customer complaints and irregularities are reported to management. Weekly debtors age analysis reports are prepared for review by management, and customers are contacted to make sure statements and invoices reflect outstanding balances. The role keeps a record of all correspondence and discussions relating to customers, and updates and maintains accurate customer details on the master data.

The administrator prepares and reconciles debtors’ accounts and resolves any outstanding queries, reviews and maintains age analysis to ensure debt does not exceed 60 days, and communicates monthly with each customer to collect outstanding debt. Disputes with customers are resolved, and all queries and enquiries on customer accounts are addressed. The role also requires adherence to Dis-Chem policies and procedures and standard operating procedures, as well as to health and safety rules and regulations.
