The manager will support the Group Executive: Supply Chain and the manufacturing and technical leadership to analyse, develop and implement improved supply chain strategies, in line with the group’s objectives. Famous Brands is a well-known South African food services group.

Role details and duties

• Project-manage and implement national manufacturing and logistics initiatives, including the Supply Chain Way.
• Develop reports, conduct deep analysis and turn insights into solutions that improve the business.
• Build a high-performing, motivated and disciplined team aligned to company culture.
• Organise and control operational resources for maximum efficiency across plants and depots.
• Maintain legal, health and safety and company policy requirements, and ensure staff have the equipment, training and tools they need.
• Drive service delivery, productivity and performance across the warehouse and distribution chain.
• Oversee inventory management, production operations, logistics operations, health and safety and risk mitigation.
• Manage financial performance, governance and profitability, and execute the Supply Chain Business Plan.
• Manage strategic projects, human capital, skill development, industrial relations, staff wellness and transformation.
• Manage third-party contractors and service providers, working with support functions to drive results.

This is a permanent, intermediate-level position in Midrand, with salary undisclosed.

Requirements

• A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a B.Com or diploma.
• Preferably 5 to 10 years of experience in an FMCG distribution environment.
