About the company and the work

Fides Recruitment was founded in 2008 by seasoned recruiter Brent Leeuw, and in 2011 a second company, Fides Placements, was started to focus on executive search and placements. The role also processes stock transfers between stores and departments, ensuring transfers between main stores, feeder departments and production areas are recorded, maintaining accurate records of stock held by each department, investigating stock in the incorrect location, and ensuring no stock is moved without proper documentation or system transactions. Stock taking covers daily or weekly cycle counts where required, monthly stock counts, comparing physical stock to system quantities, investigating variances, preparing variance reports, identifying recurring causes of discrepancies, implementing corrective actions approved by management, and maintaining accurate stock-count documentation. Stock accuracy duties include ensuring all movements are captured correctly, preventing unauthorised movements, monitoring adjustments, ensuring adjustments are properly authorised, investigating unexplained variances, identifying potential stock losses or process weaknesses, and keeping physical and system stock aligned. Health and safety duties include complying with all company health and safety procedures, ensuring stock is stored safely, reporting unsafe storage conditions, keeping aisles and access areas clear, using material-handling equipment correctly where applicable, wearing required PPE, and reporting damaged racking, pallets or storage equipment.

Practical tips

Make your stock accuracy easy to evidence: mention the systems you have used, the size and type of stock you controlled, and any cycle-count or variance-reporting routines you ran. Show that you understand FIFO, GRVs and production issues, and give an example of a discrepancy you investigated and resolved. Strong Excel skills matter here, so mention the reports and reconciliations you have produced.
