A full-time Financial Accountant opportunity is open in Gauteng, offering R35,000 to R40,000 per month. The role covers debtors, creditors, inventory, fixed assets and banking, and suits an experienced accountant who is confident on SYSPRO and Microsoft Excel.

About the company and the work

Perennial Management Consulting (PMC) is recruiting for this Gauteng-based finance role. The work supports the day-to-day financial running of a business, from customer payments and supplier invoices through to stock, assets and bank reconciliations. Accuracy, clear records and steady follow-up are central to the position. The advert also notes that the successful candidate should reside in Benoni or the surrounding area, or be able to travel to the workplace reliably.

Role details/duties

On the debtors side, duties include handling remittance advices, allocating payments, investigating discrepancies, answering customer queries, following up outstanding payments, reconciling the monthly debtors age analysis to the general ledger, issuing monthly statements, keeping customer information and system housekeeping in order, and preparing weekly SYSPRO age analysis reports. On the creditors side, duties include capturing supplier invoices and creditor information on SYSPRO, resolving supplier queries, following up payments, completing monthly creditor reconciliations and clearing GRN suspense items. Other duties include stocktakes, cost changes and stock adjustments, maintaining the fixed assets register, processing cash book transactions, completing daily bank reconciliations and clearing outstanding reconciling items, following company policies and procedures, training, reporting non-conforming documentation and breaches, and general administrative and ad hoc duties.

Requirements

• A completed National Diploma or degree in the relevant accounting or financial discipline, which is compulsory
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Financial Accountant
• South African citizenship
• English proficiency, which is compulsory
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
• SYSPRO experience, which is advantageous
• Residence in Benoni or the surrounding area, or the ability to travel to the workplace reliably
