About the company and the work

Humankind Group is a recruitment specialist, advertising this role for a leading multinational organisation in the FMCG sector. You will join its Finance team and turn commercial and financial data into clear insights that help the business make better decisions.

Role details and duties

You will analyse Net Sales, Gross-to-Net, profitability and customer performance, prepare monthly financial results with clear commentary and insights on business performance, and support the month-end close so reporting is accurate and delivered on time. You will perform detailed profit and loss and customer profitability analysis, evaluate promotions and commercial initiatives through return-on-investment analysis, and monitor and analyse trade spend to keep it within approved guidelines. You will support Sales and Marketing with financial analysis and ad-hoc commercial requests, review promotional activity and ensure promotional guidelines are followed, and support the monthly sales and operations planning process from a finance perspective. You will also monitor pricing changes and ensure ad-hoc commercial spend is correctly authorised, perform monthly and quarterly trade spend reconciliations, monitor open customer deductions and work with relevant teams to resolve outstanding items, identify commercial risks and opportunities and make recommendations, support financial controls, audit requirements and compliance with trade spend policies, and build strong relationships across Finance, Sales, Marketing and other business functions.

Requirements

• Relevant finance or accounting qualification, with a CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent qualification or background
• 3 to 6 years’ relevant commercial finance or financial analysis experience, with FMCG or Retail exposure strongly preferred
• Practical experience in areas such as commercial finance, FMCG or Retail finance, sales and marketing finance support, trade spend, Net Sales and Gross-to-Net analysis, profit and loss analysis, customer profitability, pricing and promotional analysis, return-on-investment analysis, budgeting and forecasting, month-end reporting, variance analysis, sales and operations planning, and financial controls and reconciliations
• SAP experience is essential, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Ability to work effectively with Sales and Marketing stakeholders, and a commercial mindset with the confidence to question results and provide recommendations
• BPC experience would be advantageous but is not essential
