Fides Recruitment is looking for a Chief Executive Officer (Technology Distribution) in Centurion. This is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid work, offering a basic salary of R3m to R4 million plus incentives. It is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who can run a technology distribution business, grow it, and lead its people.
About the company and the work
The company is an authorised distributor for major global technology providers. It supplies products and services to customers in mining, construction, agriculture, geospatial work, and transportation and logistics. Its core technologies cover positioning, modelling, connectivity and data analytics, so the business sits close to the practical technology used on mines, farms, construction sites and in logistics operations.
The Chief Executive Officer will lead the whole business, including its subsidiaries and departments, and will be responsible for turning strategy into growth, profit and a strong, well-run organisation.
Role details and duties
- Execute the strategic plan and drive growth and expansion across the business.
- Provide visionary leadership to subsidiaries and departments.
- Oversee daily operations and monitor financial performance, working with the Financial Director on budgets.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and shareholders, and represent the company at industry events.
- Lead, mentor and develop the executive team, managers and employees, and support talent development.
- Analyse the market and competitors, and identify new products, services and markets together with business development and innovation.
- Build the business development pipeline and develop sales strategies with the sales and marketing teams.
Requirements
- A Technology or Engineering degree and a business-related degree.
- Proven executive leadership and innovation in an engineering or technology organisation, preferably in the geospatial, engineering, mining, construction or agricultural industry.
- Experience with a global technology supplier distributing products or solutions into Africa is ideal.
- An extensive mining industry network is a big advantage.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution, business development and operational management, with a focus on growth and profitability.
- A strong understanding of engineering principles, product lifecycles, and technological and market trends in these industries.
