The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) is a university of technology with campuses in Bloemfontein and Welkom. These part-time lecturing posts are appointed on an hourly basis for specific semester and/or year subjects, covering teaching, learning and assessment. Lectures can be expected to be face-to-face, via remote teaching, or a combination of the two, and successful applicants will be required to lecture on the relevant CUT campus.
Role details and duties
The main purpose of the job is to develop academic material and lecture in allocated subjects for own and other programmes, and to execute appropriate community projects. Main tasks are teaching, learning and assessment; student evaluation; research; administration; control and organisation; and community service. Subject fields are Marketing, Business Management and Retail Management, including Work Integrated Learning for Marketing; Business Management 1, 2 and 3; Economics 1, 2 and 3; Accounting 1; Quantitative Techniques; Mathematics for Business; Consumer Behaviour; Marketing 1; Personal Selling; Fundamentals of Retail Management; Managing in a Retail Environment; Management of Retail Finances; Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management; Customer Service; and Work Integrated Learning for Retail Management. These lecturers must be available during the day and during the evening, and will be expected to have their own laptop computer.
Requirements
Requirements are an appropriate Postgraduate Diploma, Honours, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Marketing or Business Management. Previous lecturing experience will serve as a recommendation, and experience with electronic education (Blackboard) is recommended. No experience level label is stated in the advert.
