• Monitoring credit, operational and regulatory risks at dealership level, and ensuring information and reports received from Financial Managers are accurate.
• Training finance staff, mostly on accounting issues, VAT and policies and procedures, and leading and mentoring dealership finance teams to ensure capability and performance, including support for succession planning and training initiatives.
• Reviewing monthly general ledger audit files, assisting Dealer Principals and Financial Managers with queries, and ensuring payments are made timeously and accurately with correct authorisations in place.
• Ensuring expenses are recognised in the correct periods and disclosed correctly, driving cost-saving initiatives across dealerships and shared functions, and monitoring floorplan utilisation, interest costs and inventory aging.
• Managing regional cash flow and working capital efficiency, promoting automation and standardisation of finance processes, and ensuring completeness, validity and accuracy of provisions and accruals.
• Ensuring accuracy of all dealerships’ monthly commissions and authorisations, visiting dealerships to ensure policies, procedures, financial controls and OEM requirements are followed, and implementing new company policies and procedures as instructed or discussed.
• Ensuring all company assets are managed properly, including weekly vehicle stock takes and daily parts perpetual stock counts, and overseeing payroll reporting to ensure correct designations and departments are used.
