The Account Manager in Training will support existing Account Managers in providing technical service and customer consultation. Day-to-day duties include building and maintaining relationships with existing customers while identifying new sales opportunities, assisting customers with effective cleaning and sanitation programmes, and helping to evaluate processes to find opportunities to improve efficiency and food safety. The role also involves participating in value-added projects that develop sales, technical and problem-solving skills, and travelling within the assigned territory to visit customer sites.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Agricultural Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or a related field. Ideally, candidates will have 0 to 2 years of experience in technical sales or in the food, beverage or dairy processing and manufacturing environment. A valid driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record are required, as is a willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required. Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are also essential.
