Daily work includes checking the job book, fitness checklist and open/close checklists for faults; completing tasks from the brand-standards action sheet within the time allowed; attending to breakdowns and incidents within the required turnaround time; carrying out preventative maintenance and service plans; and being hands-on in the repair of equipment and premises, including outside the premises. Health and safety runs through the role: good general housekeeping, clean, hygienic, safe and tidy work areas, correct storage of tools, consumables and equipment, familiarity with the OSH Act, and asking for advice when unsure about the correct use or storage of any equipment or consumable. On the administration side, the operator monitors regularly used consumables and reports replacement needs to management, completes pool logs and downtime reports, marks off completed tasks in job books, and completes standard preventative maintenance checklists.
