A highly experienced Senior Surveyor is needed to support the delivery of infrastructure and civil engineering projects in KwaZulu-Natal, including SANRAL roadworks, with applications closing on 28 December 2026 and a salary of R75,000 to R91,667 per month.
About the company and the work
The vacancy is advertised by Goldman Tech Resourcing, trading as Stand-Out Staffing, a South African recruitment company working across IT, finance and mining-related sectors and focusing on niche segments of the market. Its client needs a senior surveying professional who can bring strong technical surveying capability, confidence in construction environments and an understanding of the requirements of major road and infrastructure projects. This is a permanent role in the engineering sector, based in KwaZulu-Natal.
Role details and duties
You will oversee and carry out surveying activities for roadworks and other civil infrastructure developments. That includes accurate setting-out, topographical and construction surveys; establishing and verifying site control networks, benchmarks, coordinates and elevations; and checking construction works against approved drawings, design levels and specified tolerances. You will provide reliable survey data to support engineering design, construction planning and project execution, review field measurements and calculations to keep them accurate and consistent, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, project managers and other site personnel. You will also keep detailed records of survey activities, measurements and technical findings, support quality control and compliance with project specifications, and help resolve survey-related issues while giving technical guidance to site teams.
Requirements
Applicants need more than 15 years of professional surveying experience, with demonstrated experience in infrastructure and civil engineering projects. SANRAL project experience and familiarity with the relevant road construction specifications are required, along with strong knowledge of construction setting-out, survey control and measurement techniques. You should be competent in modern surveying equipment and the relevant processing software, able to interpret technical drawings and engineering data, and bring excellent organisational, leadership and problem-solving abilities, with a professional approach to safety, quality and project deadlines. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
