About the company and the work
The Recruitment Guy (Pty) Ltd is recruiting qualified senior diesel truck technicians for a commercial vehicle fleet workshop in Camperdown, working across logistics, fleet, workshop and maintenance. The technicians conduct inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles, keeping the fleet running safely and reliably. The roles are permanent and full time, with a start as soon as possible, and applicants must be prepared to work overtime and weekends when required.
Role details and duties
- Conduct work preparation.
- Perform defined assembly and maintenance repairs to vehicles.
- Conduct mechanical inspections.
- Perform visual inspections and onboard diagnosis during pre-diagnosis.
- Identify deviations, irregularities and unusual wear and tear.
- Administer the parts process.
- Document work completed and record working hours.
- Complete checklists and return workshop orders to the Workshop Foreman.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or N3 with Science and Mathematics.
- Red Seal-qualified Diesel Technician.
- Minimum three years’ commercial vehicle experience as a qualified Diesel Technician.
- Experience with Scania and Hino vehicles would be advantageous.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to follow diagnostic and repair procedures accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Traceable and contactable references.
- Local residency or willingness to relocate.
