iOCO is looking for four Senior Business Analysts to join a high-performing team in Cape Town, working on strategic technology and business transformation initiatives in financial services. This is far more than a requirements-gathering role: the successful analysts will take full ownership of their workstreams, engage directly with senior stakeholders and drive projects from concept through to implementation. The role is based in Cape Town on a hybrid working arrangement, and applications close on 28 December 2026.
About the company and the work
iOCO is a technology consultancy that solves complex real-world problems with innovative software solutions. Its consultants work with knowledgeable teams across industries, and the organisation places a strong emphasis on continuous learning, giving staff the opportunities and tools to keep developing. iOCO describes itself as an equal opportunity employer with its own employment equity objectives. In this team, Business Analysts are trusted to take full ownership of their workstreams, working closely with business leaders, investment teams, technology partners and data specialists to identify opportunities, define solutions and ensure the successful delivery of business-critical initiatives.
Role details and duties
The analysts will analyse business problems and define clear, measurable outcomes, and will gather, document and validate business requirements. They will produce high-quality process flows, business requirements documents, user stories and test documentation, and will facilitate workshops and engage with senior stakeholders across the business. The role also involves evaluating solution options, risks, dependencies and business impact, and supporting data mapping, integration, transformation and validation activities. The analysts will lead user acceptance testing planning, execution and defect management, build and maintain reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Excel, manage delivery milestones and proactively identify and resolve blockers, and contribute to Agile ceremonies while maintaining project artefacts within Jira and related tools.
Requirements
Applicants need 7 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst across the full project lifecycle, experience working within complex, multi-stakeholder environments, and a demonstrated ability to independently manage workstreams and deliver outcomes. Strong requirements gathering, process analysis and documentation skills are required, together with experience engaging directly with senior business stakeholders, and excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management abilities, plus strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Candidates should have proven experience in at least one of the following areas: Liquid Credit, Business Operations, Private Credit, Insurance, or Financial Services, Asset Management, Investments, Banking or Insurance environments. Experience is also sought in SQL, Power BI and Excel; APIs, ETL processes and data integration initiatives; Jira, ServiceNow, DealCloud or similar platforms; Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies; and mentoring or supporting junior team members. On qualifications, the advert asks for a relevant degree or diploma, a BA certificate or diploma, and a relevant financial services qualification. The ideal candidate is proactive, motivated and driven to deliver, comfortable taking ownership and working with minimal supervision, diligent, inquisitive and naturally curious, a critical thinker who challenges assumptions and seeks better outcomes, accurate, detail-oriented and highly accountable, confident and professional with senior stakeholders, and passionate about continuous improvement and delivering business value.
Where to find and apply safely

Practical tips
Lead with your senior-level delivery evidence: describe workstreams you have owned end to end, transformation initiatives you have driven from concept to production, and the senior stakeholders you have worked with directly. Show your documentation quality by naming the process flows, business requirements documents, user stories and test documentation you have produced, and mention your UAT leadership, Power BI and Excel reporting, and Jira or ServiceNow experience. Highlight your financial services exposure — whether in liquid credit, private credit, insurance, asset management, investments or banking — since the advert asks for proven experience in at least one of these areas.

Important information
This post is for information only and is not the employer. All details above come from the original advert, including the Cape Town hybrid working arrangement and the fact that four positions are sought under this advert. Note a discrepancy in the advert itself: the listing header gives the job type as Contract, while the detail text describes a permanent position — applicants should confirm the contract type in the original advert before applying. This is also a different vacancy from the Senior Business Analyst – Private Credit role in Cape Town, which is advertised separately.
