iOCO is looking for a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to join the Technology team of a leading investment firm operating in the Private Credit space, based in Cape Town on a hybrid working arrangement. This is a true end-to-end ownership role on an initial six-month contract: you will work closely with investment professionals and technology teams to enhance investment systems, reporting platforms and data processes, and you will be expected to take accountability for defining solutions and driving delivery, not simply gathering requirements. Applications close on 28 December 2026.
About the company and the work
iOCO is a technology consultancy that solves complex real-world problems with innovative software solutions. Its consultants work with knowledgeable teams across industries, and the organisation places a strong emphasis on continuous learning, giving staff the opportunities and tools to keep developing. iOCO describes itself as an equal opportunity employer with its own employment equity objectives. In this role you will support a client in the private credit investment space, acting as a trusted advisor to both business and technology stakeholders while enhancing the systems and data processes that underpin investment decisions.
Role details and duties
The analyst will analyse business challenges and define practical, measurable solutions, and will elicit, document and validate business requirements across multiple stakeholders. You will produce high-quality user stories, process flows, business requirements documentation and test scenarios, and will support data mapping, integration, validation and reporting initiatives. The role also involves driving user acceptance testing, defect management and delivery readiness, working closely with technical teams to assess solution options, risks, dependencies and business impact, and building and maintaining reporting and analytical dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Excel. You will manage delivery milestones, proactively identifying risks and driving resolutions, and act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders.
Requirements
Applicants need 7 or more years of Business Analysis experience across the full project lifecycle, and Private Credit experience is mandatory. Demonstrated experience working directly with senior stakeholders and independently driving workstreams is required, together with strong requirements gathering, process analysis, documentation and testing experience, a solid understanding of data analysis, reporting and business process improvement, and excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently challenge and influence stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities are also required, along with Financial Services, Investments, Asset Management or Credit Investment experience and advanced Excel skills. Exposure to SQL, Power BI, APIs, ETL processes and workflow tools such as Jira or ServiceNow is expected, as is experience working within Agile delivery environments. On qualifications, the advert asks for a relevant degree or diploma and a BA certificate or diploma. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated and delivery-focused, comfortable taking ownership with minimal supervision, diligent, naturally inquisitive and able to critically analyse business challenges, accurate and detail-oriented, producing documentation that stands up to scrutiny, confident and clear when engaging with senior stakeholders, and passionate about improving processes and driving business value.
