A leading cloud solutions company in Cape Town is seeking an intermediate to senior Backend Developer who will develop, implement and test software components and applications, and maintain and develop existing applications. The team builds, enhances, integrates and maintains complex custom-designed and off-the-shelf software systems, and contributes to technical designs, including investigating complex problems and proposing solutions.

Role details and duties

Develop software: Develop software according to functional and technical specifications, following SDLC requirements using Agile methodologies with a feature-complete approach.

Requirements

• Formal tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering) or equivalent experience as shown in the listing.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant development experience.
• Strong understanding of project life cycle and software development methodologies.
• Experience with version control using Git.
• Solid understanding of client-server architecture and integration technologies.
• Essential technical skills: JavaScript and TypeScript, Node.js, and extensive experience with Express.js and MongoDB, as named in the role title and listing.
