Ikwezi Mining (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Security Manager in South Africa. This full-time role manages security service delivery, security staff and operations, compliance, risk, incident reporting and the security operations budget. Reference: JHB000141/Hope.

Ikwezi Mining (Pty) Ltd is a mining company. The work covers day-to-day security operations, service provider and contractor liaison, compliance with contractual and legal requirements, and the protection of people, stock, assets and infrastructure.

Role details and duties

• Maintain good relations internally, externally and with third-party contractor employees.
• Ensure security service delivery in line with SOPs and that security officers meet contractual requirements.
• Identify and mitigate risks, evaluate service levels and recommend improvements.
• Manage and supervise security staff and operations, including rosters and posting.
• Deal promptly with HR-related queries and investigate incidents.
• Attend internal, external and third-party meetings.
• Compile weekly, monthly and annual site incident reports.
• Control the security operations budget and monitor expenses.
• Carry out stores, stock and asset audits to verify stock and minimise theft.
• Verify security service provider invoicing and rental machine hours.
• Review and maintain security infrastructure.

Requirements

• National diploma in security management an advantage.
• Grade 12.
• 5 years’ experience in a similar position in mining.
• SAPS or Military experience an advantage.
• Familiarity with all legislation relating to the position and with the MHSA and its control.
• Investigating experience.
• Firearm Police competency — Handgun and Shotgun, and Firearm training Handgun and Shotgun for Business Purpose.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.
• Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
• Good interpersonal skills to liaise with the client, community, SAPS and outside stakeholders.
• Experience in crowd and strike control an advantage.
• PSIRA B grade or higher, with up-to-date PSIRA affiliation.
• Experience using relevant technology and equipment, including CCTV.
