Peppa Placements · Somerset West
R6 000 - R8 000 monthly Entry Level

Customer liaison speaking with a customer

Peppa Placements is looking for a confident, people-first Sales & Customer Liaison in Somerset West, Cape Town. This permanent, full-time role works for an ICT client, turning enquiries into connected customers.

About the company and the work

The role is listed on PNet by Peppa Placements for its ICT client based in Somerset West. The liaison is the friendly voice of the client: closing new sales, keeping customers informed on installation and technician schedules, and solving basic connectivity questions before they become support tickets. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, in Somerset West.

Role details and duties

  • Handle inbound sales enquiries by phone, WhatsApp, email and walk-ins, responding the same business day.
  • Explain internet packages clearly and match each customer to the right plan.
  • Follow up on quotes and warm leads until they close or are marked lost.
  • Capture every lead, sale and sign-up accurately on the system.
  • Upsell upgrades and add-ons to existing customers where they add real value.
  • Meet monthly sales targets and report on pipeline progress.
  • Book installations, site surveys and technician call-outs, and coordinate with the field team on availability and routes.
  • Confirm appointments in advance and update customers promptly on delays or changes.
  • Act as the link between customers, sales and the technical team.
  • Walk customers through simple fixes such as rebooting routers, checking cables and power, and Wi-Fi password resets.
  • Ask the right questions to tell a customer-side issue from a network issue, log faults clearly and escalate beyond first-line support.
  • Handle queries and complaints with patience, keeping customers updated until resolved, and assist with account, billing and payment questions.

Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Fluent, well-spoken Afrikaans and English, both spoken and written.
  • A natural talker with a confident, warm phone manner who builds rapport quickly.
  • Strong organisational skills to juggle bookings, follow-ups and changing schedules.
  • Computer literate: email, WhatsApp Business, spreadsheets and CRM or billing systems.
  • Own reliable transport and a valid driver’s licence.
  • Able to work Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, in Somerset West.
  • Experience in sales, call centre, customer service or a similar client-facing role.
  • Experience in ISP, telecoms, IT or technology sales.
  • Basic understanding of internet connections, routers and Wi-Fi.
  • Familiarity with the Western and Northern Cape towns and farming communities.
