Recruitpro Solutions is recruiting a Project Engineer for a well-established South African original equipment manufacturer on the East Rand. The permanent role manages the engineering and technical side of mineral processing projects from conception to completion, and applications close on 30 November 2026.

About the company and the work

The role is advertised by Recruitpro Solutions on behalf of a well-established South African OEM that designs, manufactures, tests and commissions mineral processing equipment and plants for the mining industry. The business operates an ISO 9001 (TÜV SÜD) certified quality system and follows a concurrent engineering approach across business development, engineering, projects and fabrication. The Project Engineer plans, executes and delivers projects on time, within budget and to high quality, working closely with project managers, administrators and document controllers and giving technical guidance to the team. The role reports to the Senior Project Manager and oversees the Junior Project Engineer/Manager, Project Administrator and Document Controller.

Role details and duties

The Project Engineer carries a project from planning through delivery:

• Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, cost estimates and budgets.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, plans and specifications.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and implement quality control processes.
• Monitor fabrication and assembly of equipment in the workshop.
• Procure and manage equipment and materials, and allocate resources.
• Identify project risks and put mitigation and contingency plans in place.
• Compile Quality Control Plans (QCPs), project Databooks and OEM equipment manuals.
• Ensure all materials and buyouts have datasheets, certificates and documentation.
• Oversee budget versus actual spend and manage budget and contract changes.
• Report progress, delays and recovery plans to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ engineering experience.
• Inventor, Solid Edge and/or SolidWorks.
• Strong MS Office and MS Project skills.
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015 quality and SHERQ requirements.

Advantageous: a Master’s degree in Engineering or Project Management, and Pr Eng registration with ECSA. The right person will also show strong analytical and problem-solving ability, clear communication of technical information, leadership and team guidance, and good time management under deadlines.
