Project Coordinator Jobs in Cape Town

Project planning documents and a laptop

iOCO is looking for a Project Coordinator for its Cape Town team. This is a permanent role for an organised, detail-driven person who enjoys keeping technology projects on track, on time and properly documented. If you like working at the centre of a delivery team, where every plan, meeting and report passes through you, this role puts you right there.

About the company and the work

iOCO is a technology and consulting company that delivers cloud, infrastructure and professional services projects for customers. Project coordinators are the backbone of that delivery work: they keep the records accurate, the plans current and the people aligned, so that project managers and delivery teams can maintain control, visibility and momentum throughout the project lifecycle.

Unlike a project manager role, this position is about coordination, administration, reporting and governance support. You will not be expected to own delivery decisions, but you will be expected to make sure nothing slips through the cracks: every action has an owner, every risk is logged, and every document is filed where it can be found.

Role details and duties

The advert groups the key responsibilities as follows:

  • Project governance and planning support: help develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones and workstream trackers; maintain project registers, RAID logs, decision logs, action logs, change records and document repositories; keep project templates, approvals and governance documents complete, current and correctly filed; and support compliance with the agreed project methodology, governance cadence and company standards.
  • Project coordination and administration: coordinate day-to-day project activities, meetings, workshops, reviews and follow-up actions; track deliverables, dependencies, due dates, decisions and outstanding actions, escalating delays where needed; coordinate onboarding, access requirements, documentation and logistical arrangements; and support project initiation, implementation, transition, closure and lessons-learned activities.
  • Stakeholder support: prepare meeting agendas, minutes, action lists, presentations, status updates and governance packs; maintain clear communication with project team members, customers, vendors and internal stakeholders; and consolidate accurate information from workstream owners for project reporting and stakeholder updates.
  • Project controls: record and track project risks, issues, assumptions, constraints, dependencies and mitigation actions; administer change requests and make sure supporting information, impact assessments and approvals are in order; and follow up on overdue actions and escalate unresolved items in line with project governance requirements.
  • Financial administration: assist with budget tracking, purchase orders, invoices, billing milestones, timesheets and expenses; maintain accurate records of commercial documents, statements of work, vendor commitments and customer commitments; and highlight financial or administrative exceptions to the Project Manager for review and action.
  • Resource coordination: maintain resource plans, allocation trackers, contact lists, availability schedules and project calendars; coordinate internal and external resource requirements and help resolve scheduling conflicts; and give project teams timely reminders, documentation and administrative support.
  • Quality and compliance: perform quality checks on project documentation, reports, registers and governance packs before circulation; maintain organised, audit-ready project records in line with security and confidentiality requirements; and capture lessons learned and recommend practical improvements to project coordination and administration.

The advert states no separate experience level label, so none is shown in the job details for this post. The advert reference is 210019, and applications close on December 29, 2026.

Requirements

Only the requirements stated in the original advert are listed here. Minimum qualifications: a diploma or certificate in Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Commerce or a related field. A project coordination or project administration certification would be advantageous, as would foundation-level project management, Agile, cloud or service management training.

Experience required: 2 to 4 years of experience in project coordination, project administration, PMO support or operations; experience supporting technology, cloud, infrastructure, professional services or customer delivery projects; experience maintaining project plans, RAID logs, action trackers, meeting records and document repositories; experience coordinating meetings, resources, schedules, reporting cycles and stakeholder follow-ups; and experience supporting purchase orders, invoicing, billing, timesheets or project financial administration.

Skills the advert asks for: proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, with strong capability in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams; strong organisation, attention to detail, written communication, follow-through and time-management skills. Exposure to project management platforms and cloud or managed services environments would be advantageous, as would Business Analysis experience.

Where to find and apply safely

Apply through the original Careers24 advert using the Apply button on this page, which links directly to the iOCO listing. The advert reference is 210019, and applications close on December 29, 2026. Be wary of anyone asking you to pay a fee to secure a job: genuine applications through Careers24 do not require payment from job seekers.

Practical tips

Coordination roles are won on evidence of organisation. If you have run RAID logs, action trackers or governance packs, say so and name the tools you used, including Microsoft 365 and any project management platform. Mention your experience with purchase orders, invoicing or timesheets if you have it, because the financial administration part of this role is a real portion of the work. If you hold a project coordination certificate or foundation-level Agile or project management training, put it near the top of your application.

How the process works

Applications are submitted through the original Careers24 advert before the closing date of December 29, 2026. The employer reviews applications and contacts shortlisted candidates for the next steps, which in coordination roles usually include an interview focused on how you organise work, track actions and handle competing deadlines. The advert does not publish a response timeline, so keep an eye on the original advert for updates.

Important information

This post is for information only and summarises the vacancy as advertised. It is not a job offer. Always confirm the details, including the closing date and the requirements, in the original advert before applying. Salary is stated as Market Related, and this is a permanent position in Cape Town. Note that a separate iOCO vacancy, Intermediate Project Manager (iOCO0190), is also advertised for Cape Town; this post covers the Project Coordinator (iOCO0191) role only.
