A fully remote procurement role has opened in South Africa, and it puts one experienced person in charge of getting student learning kits from suppliers to learners, complete and on time. If you enjoy forecasting, negotiating with suppliers and keeping deliveries moving, this Procurement & Operations Officer opportunity is worth a close look.
Learning Online Group is an online education company that trains students in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Its schools include Australian Beauty School, Canadian Beauty School and Omnia Tattoo Academy. Many of its courses include a professional student kit that is posted directly to the student’s door, and that kit is often the first physical item a student receives.
This role owns that process from start to finish. The successful candidate will work closely with the Australian leadership team, the product team and suppliers, and will be trusted to run their area without being chased. It is a hands-on, full-time, permanent position, worked entirely from home in South Africa.
The Procurement & Operations Officer will oversee student kit delivery from start to finish across Australia, New Zealand and Canada, forecast kit demand and keep stock at the right level, and get ahead of shortages and overstock. The role includes managing supplier relationships and negotiating terms, raising and managing purchase orders, and matching them to supplier invoices.
Other duties include coordinating kit changes and new product launches with the product team and suppliers, resolving supplier and courier escalations, including regional delivery issues, and keeping Sales, Marketing and Student Services up to date on kit changes. The officer will also maintain kit documentation, prepare enrolment and kit reports for invoicing, report on budgets and spend, issue student documents such as proofs of enrolment and tax receipts, run exception reports, keep CRM data clean, support the finance team with audit documentation, and spot inefficiencies and propose better ways of working.
According to the advert, candidates should have 5 or more years in procurement, buying or supply chain, managing supplier relationships themselves. They should be able to show demand forecasting and stock management with real numbers, have strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, and have experience working in a CRM or ERP, with Salesforce listed as a bonus.
The role also calls for accuracy with administration and data, even at high volume, the self-discipline to work remotely and make good decisions independently, and a reliable home setup with backup power and stable internet. A degree or diploma in supply chain, logistics, procurement or business, or a CIPS qualification, is a bonus, as is experience shipping into Australia, New Zealand or Canada. The advert notes that strong candidates may come from buying or procurement at large retailers, e-commerce or fulfilment operations, supply chain or procurement roles managing imported or international suppliers, or subscription box, kit or direct-to-consumer businesses.
The stated package is R28,000 to R38,000 per month, depending on experience. The role is fully remote, from anywhere in South Africa, with no commute.
This opportunity is listed on PNet, and the Apply button on this page links to the original PNet advert. Apply only through that original listing, and check the employer name, job title and location there before submitting any personal information. A genuine employer will not ask you to pay a fee to apply or to be considered.
Before applying, prepare examples that show forecasting, stock levels and supplier outcomes in real numbers, since the advert highlights this. Have a short summary ready of the suppliers you have managed, the orders you have raised and any delivery problems you resolved. Check that your home internet and backup power arrangements are reliable, and mention them briefly if relevant. Tailor your CV to procurement, buying and fulfilment, rather than sending a general CV.
Jobseekers normally apply through the original PNet listing, where the employer reviews applications and contacts shortlisted candidates. If you are shortlisted, expect to discuss your procurement experience, forecasting approach and examples of supplier management in more detail. Keep a copy of the advert and your application, and be ready to explain how you have kept deliveries on track.
This page is for information only and does not guarantee employment, shortlisting or any particular salary within the stated range. Details, including the salary, working arrangement and requirements, are as stated in the original advert and may change. Always confirm the final terms with the employer through the original listing before accepting an offer.
