Role details and duties

The work includes:

• Conducting eye examinations, advising patients, and explaining all relevant tests before confirming prescriptions.
• Carrying out the minimum examination standard, including non-contact tonometry, central visual field screening and case history.
• Fitting hard and soft contact lenses, ordering trial lenses, tracking back orders and maintaining stock.
• Helping patients select frames suited to their prescriptions.
• Working with laboratories and suppliers, completing lab orders and redo jobs, checking Vertometer readings, verifying pricing and ensuring lab credits are received.
• Checking that spectacles and lenses meet prescriptions, adjusting them for comfort, and reinforcing their expected benefits.
• Handling patient queries and making 7-day follow-up calls for all collections.
• Capturing required PPN information, including IOPs, VAs and Visual Fields.
• Keeping optometry equipment fully functional, in good condition and immaculately clean.
• Keeping professional knowledge up to date and keeping the attendance register updated daily.

The role may also include other duties needed for smooth operations, such as filing, deliveries, stock entry, answering phones and follow-up calls.

Requirements
