A leading shipping company is seeking an experienced operations coordinator to manage international freight shipments from the point a confirmed booking is handed over by sales through to final delivery, invoicing and file closure. Role details / duties

• Manage around 30-40 active shipment files at a time, with fixed cut-offs and shipment deadlines.
• Manage import and export shipments end to end.
• Arrange bookings, collections and final deliveries.
• Prepare and check shipping and customs documentation.
• Proactively manage clients, carriers, agents and shipment exceptions.
• Manage accruals, supplier costs, invoicing, margin and file closure.

Requirements

• Matric / National Senior Certificate.
• Minimum 3 years’ freight forwarding or international moving operations experience.
• Imports and exports experience.
• FCL, LCL, air freight and road freight experience.
• End-to-end shipment file ownership and direct client contact.
• A suitable quiet workspace and reliable dedicated (for single user) internet of at least 20 Mbps download, as stated in the source advert.
• Nice-to-haves: CargoWise or similar freight-management system experience; customs entry framing / SARS EDI experience; international household moving experience; freight, customs or logistics qualification; Afrikaans proficiency.
