Role details and duties

Duties include preventive maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs on plant and production equipment. The technician will maintain and repair compressors, condensers, vacuum pumps, temperature control equipment, agitators, mixers and freeze dryers, and will service refrigeration systems, cooling water systems, chillers, cooling towers and reverse osmosis water systems. Other duties include equipment inspections and instrument calibration, maintaining accurate maintenance records, job cards and documentation, following Good Manufacturing Practice, safety regulations and company procedures, helping with stock control, keeping a clean and safe working environment, supporting production and service delivery, taking part in after-hours maintenance call-outs when required, and helping with equipment improvements, troubleshooting and maintenance planning.

Requirements

• Grade 10 to Grade 12.
• More than five years of experience working as a Maintenance Technician.
• Technically qualified and trade tested in Mechanical, Millwright or Mechatronics.
• Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance role.
• Knowledge of GMP and ISO requirements.
• Experience working in a cGMP environment would be advantageous.
• Experience with freeze dry and refrigeration maintenance will be advantageous.
• Computer literacy, fault finding, organisational skills and communication skills, as listed in the original advert.
