Falcorp Resourcing is looking for an Integration Architect in Fairland for a fixed-term, full-time role. This is a senior position for someone who can design the connections between core systems, cloud platforms and third-party services so that data moves reliably across a whole organisation.
About the company and the work
The role is listed on PNet by Falcorp Resourcing. The Integration Architect designs, establishes and orchestrates integration frameworks, middleware platforms and hybrid cloud data flows, working where core infrastructure, enterprise service buses, legacy platforms and cloud ecosystems meet. It calls for authority in enterprise integration patterns, integration-platform-as-a-service suites, message queue architectures and cross-platform protocol transformations.
Role details and duties
- Formulate, document and execute enterprise integration strategies spanning cloud-to-cloud, on-premises-to-cloud (hybrid) and business-to-business or third-party interfaces.
- Architect enterprise integration middleware, API management gateways and iPaaS solutions such as MuleSoft, SnapLogic, Dell Boomi and Azure Integration Services.
- Standardise enterprise integration patterns and guidelines for asynchronous communication, including publish/subscribe, event-driven and queue-based messaging, as well as synchronous communication.
- Design canonical data models, schema transformations and ETL/ELT pipelines unifying JSON, XML, EDI, Avro and Protobuf formats.
- Build resilient messaging and event streaming topologies using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ or IBM MQ, with zero data loss and idempotent processing.
- Apply integration security protocols including OAuth2, mutual TLS, API key policies, message-level encryption and secure VPN or ExpressRoute connectivity.
- Build operational resilience through dead-letter queues, circuit breakers, automated retry policies and failover routing.
- Set up centralised observability, tracking and alerting across middleware channels using Splunk, Datadog or Elastic Stack.
- Evaluate, benchmark and select enterprise integration products and vendor solutions aligned to technology roadmaps and budgets.
- Lead integration architectural reviews, technical governance and mentoring of delivery squads.
Requirements
- A National Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 to 8 or more years of commercial IT engineering, with at least 3 or more years as a dedicated Integration Architect or Middleware Architect.
- Enterprise integration certifications are highly valued, for example MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect, Azure Integration Associate, SnapLogic Certified Architect or TOGAF.
- IT consulting or telecommunications experience is advantageous.
- Deep command of enterprise integration patterns, service-oriented architecture, microservices, enterprise service bus architectures and iPaaS ecosystem operations.
- Hands-on mastery of API management platforms such as Apigee, MuleSoft Anypoint, Kong and Azure APIM, and message queue managers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ and Solace.
- Expert understanding of data transformation protocols, REST, SOAP, WebSockets, gRPC and EDI, plus complex schema mapping.
- A proven track record designing hybrid cloud integration structures across AWS, Azure or hybrid data centre topologies under strict governance.
- Excellent strategic planning, stakeholder management and technical writing skills, with strong diagnostic ability for performance bottlenecks, memory leaks and message delivery failures in high-volume production environments.
Where to find and apply safely
This opportunity is listed on PNet by Falcorp Resourcing. Apply only through the original listing using the Apply button on this page, which opens the original job advert. Never pay a fee to apply for a job, and be cautious of anyone asking for money, banking details or personal documents before an interview.
Practical tips
Prepare two or three integration examples you can explain end to end: the systems involved, the pattern you chose and why, how you handled failures and retries, and how you proved no data was lost. Be ready to sketch a hybrid integration design and to discuss security choices such as OAuth2 and mutual TLS. Mention any relevant certifications and the middleware or API management platforms you have run in production.
How the process works
After applying through the original listing, the recruiter reviews applications and contacts shortlisted candidates. Further steps typically include interviews and technical discussions about integration design, followed by an offer for the fixed-term role.
