The business was founded in 1971 as a general dealer, and today it is owned and operated by the founding family together with staff members. The Drive Thru Yard Department is where customers collect building materials and other heavy goods, so the team there plays a direct role in how customers experience the store. The purpose of this job is to deliver exceptional customer service so that customers, delivery drivers and transfer drivers are all satisfied, the yard stays clean and tidy, and goods are loaded accurately so that no stock is lost and no customer leaves unhappy.
Role details and duties
As a General Assistant in the Drive Thru Yard Department, your work will include:
- Loading customers’ vehicles, delivery trucks and transfer trucks promptly and accurately.
- Ensuring that stock is properly stacked and counted.
- Assisting with pulling stock for transfers.
- Reporting stock shortages and stock breakages.
- Keeping your area tidy and clean by sweeping and upholding good housekeeping.
- Assisting customers with excellent customer service and product knowledge.
- Bagging stone and sand.
- Participating in perpetual stocktakes.
- Ensuring housekeeping of your work area.
- Performing any other work-related tasks delegated by your superior.
Requirements
