Finance professional working with figures and documents

A contract opportunity has opened in Pretoria for a well-organised Debtors Coordinator who can keep client credit accounts in good order and help cash flow stay on track. The role suits someone who is comfortable with figures, follow-ups and clear communication.

About the company and the work

The employer is iOCO, a technology consultancy. In this role you will coordinate client credit accounts, watch outstanding balances, and support healthy cash flow. You will work in an office-based, open-plan setting, and the advert lists Pretoria (Lynwood Manor) or Cape Town (City Centre) as locations, with Pretoria as the main listing location.

Role details and duties

Your day-to-day work will include checking the credit standing of clients, recommending credit facility levels to management, processing invoices against customer accounts, and reconciling debtor ledger accounts. You will also follow up queries, send monthly statements, keep regular contact with clients about debt, and make sure daily cash and debtor targets are met. Where payment stops, the role may involve starting legal action against debtors, in line with company policy.

Requirements

  • Debtors experience of 3 to 5 years, and 3 to 5 years of experience working in a high-pressure environment.
  • MS Office experience of 3 to 5 years.
  • Legal commercial or corporate experience of 1 year.
  • Contract position, with applications closing on 26 December 2026 according to the original advert.

Practical tips

Before you apply, gather examples of debtor reconciliations you have handled, invoices you have processed, and difficult accounts you helped bring up to date. A short, clear CV that shows your systems experience and your attention to detail will help. Check that your contact details are current so the recruiter can reach you quickly.

How the process works

Apply through the original advert, then wait for the employer or recruiter to contact shortlisted candidates. Keep a copy of the advert and your application, and be ready to discuss your experience with credit control, reconciliations and client follow-ups.
