Role details and duties
- Manage and oversee all core business reporting across the organisation.
- Maintain, enhance and take ownership of existing reporting solutions.
- Continuously optimise reporting performance, usability and accuracy.
- Drive standardisation of reporting metrics and definitions across the business.
- Design, build and maintain robust data pipelines across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation and delivery across multiple data sources.
- Coordinate and guide the data engineering function, with support from the CIO.
- Provide technical direction, mentorship and oversight to the data team.
- Define and maintain the organisation’s data architecture, such as lakehouse, warehouse or hybrid models.
- Manage cloud data platforms, storage and compute resources, and monitor and optimise capacity usage and costs.
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, standards and policies.
- Ensure data quality, consistency and security, with monitoring and validation processes.
- Assist with database administration, including performance tuning, backups and maintenance.
Requirements
- Strong experience in data engineering, business intelligence and data warehousing.
- Advanced SQL and experience with modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure and SQL Server.
- Experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Understanding of data architecture principles and best practices.
- Experience with cloud cost management and optimisation.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
