Role details and duties

• Lead the platform engineering function across Azure Cloud, DevOps, SRE, performance engineering, application modernisation and developer enablement.

• Drive end-to-end performance and production troubleshooting, from application and API through Kubernetes, Azure infrastructure, databases and external dependencies.
• Establish a comprehensive observability strategy covering metrics, logs, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting and proactive performance monitoring.
• Define and enforce security, governance, identity, secrets management, policy-as-code and compliance standards across the platform.
• Lead technical design reviews and ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, cost-effective and operationally ready.
• Mentor and provide technical direction to engineers across platform, DevOps, SRE, performance engineering and application teams.
• Collaborate closely with architecture, product, development, security, infrastructure and operations teams to remove technical blockers and accelerate delivery.
