A Cisco Secure Access Lead Engineer / Architect is needed in South Africa on a 12-month contract through Recru-it. This senior role provides technical leadership for the design, implementation and transition of a client’s Cisco Secure Access capability.
Recru-it is an IT recruitment and talent sourcing specialist with offices in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, and consultants working remotely across the country. The successful candidate will act as the senior technical authority for the solution, translating the client’s security, connectivity and user-access requirements into a secure, resilient and operationally supportable architecture.
Key responsibilities include leading the architecture, detailed design and implementation of Cisco Secure Access (CSA), aligned with SASE and Zero Trust principles; defining secure access patterns for users, devices, applications, Internet and private application access across the client’s hybrid environment; leading technical integration with relevant Cisco and enterprise security technologies, including identity, endpoint, network and security controls; defining and reviewing policies for secure Internet access, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), application access and remote connectivity; providing hands-on technical leadership during configuration, testing, migration, troubleshooting and production transition; working closely with client security, network, infrastructure and application teams to identify dependencies, resolve technical issues and minimise operational disruption; producing and maintaining high-level and low-level designs, configuration standards, implementation documentation and operational handover material; and providing technical knowledge transfer and guidance to operational engineering and support teams.
