The Western Cape Mobility Department is offering an Accounting Clerk: Financial Accounting (Bookkeepers and Cashiers) post, advertised in DPSA Public Service Vacancy Circular 40 of 2026, post 40/304, ref WCMD 97/2026. Requirements: Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification) with Accounting or Mathematics as passed subjects. Competencies: A good understanding of the following: Financial functions, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collate financial statistics; Public Service financial legislations, procedures and processes, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), 1999, Division of Revenue Act (DORA), Public Service Act (PSA), Public Service Regulations (PSR), Prefencial Procurement Policy Framework (PPPFA), Financial Manual); Public Service Act, 1994, as amended; Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997; Legislative framework governing the Public Service; Procedures in terms of the working environment; Financial operating systems (PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS); Database Management; Information and Records Management. Skills in the following: Language; Numeracy; Literacy; Good Verbal and Written Communication; Basic Numeracy; Computer literacy in MS Excel and MS Word; Planning and Organising; Language; Record Keeping; Problem-solving; Job Knowledge; Interpersonal Relations; Flexibility; Teamwork; Accuracy; Aptitude of Figures; Ability to perform routine tasks; Ability to operate office equipment.
Duties: Cashier duties; Banking services; Bookkeeping duties; Provide personnel administration clerical support services within the component.
