Role details and duties

• Manage and support Windows Server, Linux, virtualisation and core infrastructure platforms.
• Administer Microsoft SQL Server environments, covering performance, high availability, backup and recovery.
• Own enterprise backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions, including testing and meeting recovery objectives.
• Lead Azure migration projects, from assessment and dependency mapping through cutover and optimisation.
• Configure and manage Azure networking, security, identity through Entra ID, governance, monitoring and backup.
• Drive patch management, vulnerability remediation and security hardening.
• Handle infrastructure and database incidents, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Maintain architecture documentation, configuration records and vendor relationships, and produce regular infrastructure, database and backup health reports.

Requirements

• Matric plus a degree or diploma in IT, computer science or a related field.
• At least eight years in infrastructure operations, systems engineering or infrastructure management.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server administration experience.
• Proven experience with enterprise backup, recovery and disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience in Azure cloud migration and hybrid environments.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, VMware or Hyper-V, networking and firewalls.
• Experience with Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup and Entra ID.
• PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation skills.
• Understanding of ITIL, change management and operational governance.
