MSP Staffing’s client is seeking an experienced Application Developer to join its team in Cape Town, responsible for the development and support of a global Life Health business application. The role pays R66 667 to R72 500 per month, and applications close on 29 December 2026.

Key responsibilities include developing, testing and maintaining applications according to specifications; managing the complete development process, from conception to deployment; maintaining, supporting and upgrading software post-deployment; integrating applications with other business systems; working directly with business users, including performing limited business analysis tasks; and collaborating with project managers, business analysts, stakeholders and external parties while managing competing priorities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant application development experience.
• Strong C# programming skills; experience developing applications using C# and .NET.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server development experience; proficiency in writing complex T-SQL queries, views and stored procedures.
• Experience developing, testing and maintaining business applications.
• Experience managing the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment and ongoing production support.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and MS DevOps; understanding of code management and build and deployment pipelines; experience with build and deployment pipelines.
• Experience integrating applications with other business systems.
• Ability to develop, test and maintain applications according to specifications; ability to maintain, support and upgrade software post-deployment.
• Knowledge of .NET Framework 4.5+ (advantageous).
• Experience with WinForms and Console application development (advantageous).
• Experience with DevExpress Express Application Framework (XAF) for WinForms (advantageous).
• Experience with Visual Studio, preferably version 2017 or later.
• Experience working with DbUp (advantageous).
• Understanding of the reinsurance business (highly advantageous).
• Experience working directly with business users and stakeholders (advantageous); experience working with international teams across different time zones (advantageous).
• Ability to work directly with business users, including performing limited business analysis tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, business analysts, stakeholders and external parties.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Flexibility to work across international time zones, including Europe, Asia, Australia and the United States.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a cross-functional team.
