Maintenance Fitter



We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our Glenover Phosphate mining operations outside Lephalale in Limpopo. The successful candidate will be part of the maintenance department, responsible for all mechanical maintenance and projects on site.



Duties / Responsibilities
Perform mechanical maintenance and installations in accordance with planned and preventative maintenance schedules and project plans
It will be expected from the individual to have good knowledge and experience in a plant or similar working environment and be able to do fault finding, isolating faults, repair faults and troubleshooting



Ordering parts or equipment as necessary
Adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks
Complete documentation, including inspection sheets as required
Must be willing to work overtime and perform standby duties as per the requirements of the mine
Disciplined in the execution of various processes and projects
Attend to machine breakdowns of a mechanical nature for all equipment under engineering/production functional control
Perform change overs in the production environment
Fabrication of parts as required

Minimum Requirements



Matric or N3 Trade Theory
Red Seal Trade Certificate – Fitter or Fitter & Turner
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mining/manufacturing/industrial environment
Must have broad knowledge and experience on conveyer belts, gearboxes, fluid drives, pumps, and crushers
Minimum a Code EB driver license
Must be computer literate – MS Office Suite
Should have excellent communication skills in English both verbally and written
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence



Good planning and organizational skills with attention to detail
Basic welding ability
Ability to read mechanical schematics
The candidates must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.
