Afrimat Aggregates (KZN) Pty Ltd based in Ulundi has a vacancy for
Plantsman




Duties / Responsibilities / Key Functions
Ensuring a safe and legally compliant working environment and work practice at the plant
Taking full responsibility for maintaining and improving productivity of the plant which includes amongst others; optimising plant setting; quality control; performing first level maintenance; cost control; managing reporting staff; planning and execute work; tracking and reporting plant performance.


Ensuring adequate technical capacity to effectively and sustainably support the fixed plant maintenance requirements of the operation
Establishing a pro-active and performance-based maintenance culture on the plant and collaborating with earthmoving equipment maintenance staff to ensure minimal downtime and a coordinated maintenance effort to support effective production and achievement of targeted production and financial results
Create an effective team environment and culture.



Developing self and reporting staff (skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled) within own reporting ranks to their full potential
Achieve the plant KPI’s (availability, utilisation, hit rate, production and overall plant efficiency targets)
Running the plant to achieve set production targets


Minimum Qualifications / Experience




Grade 12 is essential
Basic numeracy and literacy skills
2 years of safety management experience and an in-depth knowledge of all related legislation
Proven leadership qualities
Thorough and in-depth technical and operational knowledge of all processes, systems, tools and equipment, related to the aggregates industry, and fixed quarry plant operation and maintenance practices, in particular
Proven track record in a plant production and or maintenance role




At least 3 – 5 years of experience in a high-pressure production or maintenance environment
Be prepared to work after hours when needed
Will be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Will be able to work independently as well in a team environment
The candidates must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.
