GIT Mechanical Engineer



Minimum Qualifications / Experience

BEng/BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar/relevant);
Based in Tygervalley, Bellville, Cape Town
Willing to travel to our Afrimat sites
Have own vehicle and driver’s license
Willing and fast learner, with a self-driven attitude
The candidate must be medically fit in terms the Mine Health and Safety Act.

Duties and Responsibilities



The Mechanical Engineer in training will form part of the Afrimat Engineering division and will have the following responsibilities under a Mechanical engineer’s supervision:



Complete GCC program
Form part of multiple maintenance improvement projects across Afrimat.
Attend site meetings to understand operational conditions
Assist with improving maintenance and availability of mining equipment
To succeed in this position, you must have:
Outstanding records of academic achievement
Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills



Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing
The candidates must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.
